Meet Whitney Putnam

Happy Montivational Monday friends!

On this rainy, dreary Monday, I want to share one of the most motivational ladies I know, Whitney Putnam. Whitney is a pastor's wife, mom to 3 beautiful blonde little girls,  writer for the Gospel Project, author of Imperfectley Brave, the founder of Imperfectley Brave Ladies Conference, and a woman on a mission. Whitney is not afraid to chase down God size dreams and has the gift to inspire others to chase their dreams down too.

I first met Whitney when my family moved to Kansas City and we attended the church where her husband pastors. Her undenying love for God, her wisdom, and her faithfulness to follow God impacted me for life.

Whitney recently wrote this post on her Instagram page and I asked her to share it with us. Please read and see a little bit of Whitney's heart!!!

Whitney Putnam:

Thoughts on being a working mom (and not being a working mom):

I’ve cared too long and too hard about what my fellow moms think. Stop. Care about what Jesus says to do in your season and lean wholly into that.

Care about all women. Don’t talk about why they are or aren’t working. Dialogue with a mom who isn’t in your profession + learn her whys. That’s going to be a real beautiful thing.

Remember that motherhood is not our highest calling. Neither is being a wife. Nor is being an employee. Being a daughter of Jesus and living on mission for him is our highest calling. This can be done anywhere where there is oxygen. Cubicle or kitchen not required.

Give yourself away to your kids with kindness. It’s what they will remember anyway. Also, discipline done well is kindness.

And slow the heck down. Time goes way too fast.

What tips do you have for mamas in all seasons?
