Marriage Ain't Easy Monday~ Virtuous Wife
Hey Ladies,
Happy Monday to you...especially now that it is almost over. Woot Woot!
I am probably not going to very popular with this post today and that's okay. Just remember I am talking to myself too.
I don't know about you guys but I love Proverbs 31. I love to read about the virtuous woman. I want to be more like her, she is a beautiful picture of a wife.
Proverbs 31:10 says Who can find a virtuous woman(wife)? For her worth is far above rubies.
If you look up the meaning of virtuous it means having or showing high moral standards. As wives we are called to have high moral standards in regards to being a wife and running our households.
The bible says in that same verse that if you can find a virtuous woman her price is far above rubies. Rubies are expensive ladies and they are valuable. Rubies represent nobility, purity, and passion.
Verse 11 goes on to say that the heart of her husband safely rests in her-trusts her. Are we the kind of wives that our husbands can safely trust his heart to us? Are we? I would like to think I am, I want to be that kind of wife, don't you?
The next several verses go on to talk about what a hard worker she is. She runs her household beautifully. It even says that strength and honor are her clothing and she opens her mouth with wisdom and her tongue is the law of kindness. Good grief...if there was a "perfect" wife she would be it. Her kids and husband call her blessed and he praises her. Wow just wow!!!
Ladies, I don't know about you but I want to be a wife that my husband is proud of. I don't want to be the wife that my husband goes to work and complains about me to his coworkers. I know we shouldn't go to work and complain about our spouses anyway, but it happens. We should want to be the kind of wife that when the other guys are complaining about their wives, our husband says not mine, mine isn't like that.
We need to be trustworthy, loving, kind, dependable, and praiseworthy to our husbands! Our worth is far above rubies if we can get the Proverbs 31 mentality we will get happy husbands. If we make our husbands proud, I can guarantee they will strive to make us proud too.
Go love on your spouse tonight! Tomorrow and the next day and the days to come lets do our best to make our husbands proud of us! We are more valuable than rubies! Let's strive to be the Proverbs 31 wife today and every day!
