Let the Words of My Mouth...

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

Psalm 19:14

I'm not sure when it became acceptable in our society to Speak what you Think, Say What's on your Mind, and Be Brutally Honest! When did  it  become okay for people to be so hurtful and mean, all in the nature of Being True to Yourself, and Getting it off your Chest? No matter what the world says is okay, acceptable, the ways things are now, or totally normal; as a Christian, we must look to God for our standard of living. Not only does God tell us that our words should be acceptable unto Him; He also goes on to say that they should offer grace to the hearers.

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Ephesians 4:29

When you are being brutally honest with someone and getting all the steam off your chest; are you doing it with grace. Are you edifying them and pleasing God in the process? Remember, everything we do reflects Christ. If you are making fun of others- are you bringing glory to God? If you are tearing down another Christian- are you honoring Him? If you are blasting someone on social media- are you pleasing Him? If you are disagreeing with someone in an ungodly fashion- are you resembling Him or are you resembling a child out of control?

Please be mindful, that as a Christian everything thing you do and say reflects back to your Heavenly Father. You are either bringing honor or dishonor to the Kingdom of God. It should be our mission to bring glory, not reproach to His holy name. So please, for His sake- Let the words of your mouth be pleasing in His sight. If they are pleasing and acceptable unto Him; than you can rest assured they are being well acceptable by the hearer.

God challenges us to live peaceably with one another. Unfortunately, we live in a day where Christians take great pride in arguing with other Christians. They argue because they don't believe the same. Argue cause they don't worship the same. Argue cause they don't dress the same...and then when they are done arguing with fellow believers they begin to  argue with non-believers, argue, argue, argue...and for what? For the sake of being right? But look at what God tells us in His Words-

If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Romans 12:18

Today will you strive with me to do better? Will you seek God in this matter and see if there is any room to improve? Instead of throwing out hate and speaking your mind; will you throw out some love and speak the Words of God- peacefully? Will you be the cause that someone turns to Christ or away from Christ? May this post inspire us all to do our best to reflect the Lord in the best way possible.
