BATTLE READY!

DRESS APPROPRIATELY!!!

I have been walking a little in the mornings.  I love the fall with its crisp cool air and changing leaves.      It lends to the opportunity of needing to change my wardrobe for the adjusting temperatures.  I wouldn't dare go out without warmer clothes on.  A long sleeved shirt and a jacket.  It's what reasonable people do to protect their body from the elements.  

So why do we ONLY seem to care about protecting our body? 

We are told to Put on the WHOLE armor of God.  

13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

As followers of Christ when we don't put on the whole armor of God, we have essentially walked out the door, into the elements and bypassed the appropriate protective clothing.

Pay attention to verse 13 "so you WILL be able to resist the enemy [in the time of evil] "  It's gonna happen. When we are following Christ and trying to do as HE did (being his hands and feet) we are going to be in a battle at some point.  

Winter comes every year and we have to get out our warmer clothes so that we are protected.  It's the same with battling the enemy, and The Word says battle.  That when we put on ALL of God's armor we will be able to STAND FIRM against ALL the strategies of the devil.  

Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

Y'all we are either going into, in the middle of, or coming out of a battle.  We are already battle ready.  


We have the tools. I have to remind myself that I too have the tools to battle the enemy.  We win the war in the end, Praise The Lord, but dear friend, we can win the battles too!  We have all we need in our arsenal to stand firm against the schemes of the enemy whether in our mind, body or soul!   

So as the temperatures get cooler and you go back inside to grab a jacket when the cold wind hits your face, I pray that it will remind you to also DAILY grab and put on the WHOLE armor of God

Hello! My name is Carrie Hunt! I am 26 years old and live in New Albany where I was born and raised. I’m an assistant teacher at West Union Attendance Center and I’m currently pursuing my bachelors degree to become a certified teacher at Blue Mountain College. The Fruitful Woman Happy Tuesday and welcome to another look at The Fruitful Woman. This week will finish out the series. I have enjoyed looking at the Fruit of the Spirit from  Galatians  5 and I pray you have to.  Today brings in our last fruit. The last piece of the puzzle.
