He Can Handle It

*Follower of Christ Friday*  TEARS!  TEARS!  TEARS!  Ever had one of those mornings where your mind is racing with all of the lies the enemy tells you, and it just gets the best of you?   Well that was me last week.   I woke up to my normal routine;  A “Good Morning” to God, a trip to the coffee pot, and then a seat at the table for some quiet time with the Word.  Without fail, every morning, and only minutes before I am to sit down with the Lord, the enemy starts in on me.  Lies, lies, lies, I recognize them for what they are as they rush into my head.  Normally I can say, “Nope, that’s not true, God says otherwise!” Or “Stop, satan, flee from me and get out of here.”  This day was different.  I was tired and also hadn’t been feeling well.  If you don’t know…these things are just two ways that make you more susceptible to an attack by the enemy.  He is a hunter, who knows his prey!  And like any good hunter, uses the right bait at just the right time.    I g

As we look at yet another Fruit of the Spirit in our Fruitful Woman series today, we will focus on Meekness. Meekness- the act or condition of being meek; submissiveness Meek- quiet, gentle, and imposed on; submissive Meek is such a beautiful word with so many beautiful synonyms. I want to share a few, because I truly believe there is power in words. Look how powerful and challenging the word meek is! Synonyms for meek: humble, modest, peaceable, obedient, unpretentious, lowly, mild, reverent, forbearing, tame, patient, gentle, long-suffering, docile, unassuming, compliant Which one spoke to you the most? Circle it. Now let’s look at words that mean the opposite of meek. Antonyms for meek: impatient, assertive, overbearing, assuming, wild, inpatient, incompliant Out of these two list, which best describes the characteristics of God. Unfortunately, modern society teaches us the meekness is for the spineless and the weak. Meekness is

🌺Single Gals Saturday🌺  I recently had an a-ha moment. I had met someone, we had been talking frequently, and we went on a few dates. I did what many of us do, and talked about it with my girlfriends. It seemed, on the surface, to be promising. He was nice and funny, and he was nice looking. He appeared to have his life together - amazing job, beautiful house, nice vehicle, a dog.  My friend asked me each time we talked about him if he knew Jesus. She asked, “He has a nice smile, but does he know the Lord?” Each time, I’d say, “it hasn’t come up yet,” or, “I haven’t found a way to work it into the conversation yet.” HOLD UP. Or as one of my mentors says, “Pump ya brakes, sista.”  Then it hit me, like a mack truck. If I want my next (and hopefully last) relationship to have God right smack in the middle of it, I shouldn’t have to wait for it to come up in conversation. It should be evident in his life, just as it should be in mine. That should be the first thing that I notic

Do you like pens? Boy do I!  I confess that I am a pen snob!  I have tons of them, but they absolutely have to write well, or its  a no-go.  I can’t help it. Wonderful pens that write smoothly in various colors make me happy, especially when I use them in my planner.   As I was writing in my planner, which I do daily, I realized this year the month of February has 29 days in it.  Something, as you probably know, doesn’t happen but every 4 years. Naturally, since I am an over-thinker the only thing for me to do was to think about the significance of what this means.  It went something like “Wow! Another day…that means an extra 24 hours, an additional 1,440 minutes, that’s 366 days this year instead of 365.”  My brain continued—-“So what do I do with this realization? Should I do something special to commemorate the day? If so what? Throw a party? Maybe something adventurous? Maybe cross off an item on my bucket list?” “It’s a gift!”  You get the idea.   It’s not every y

Well happy tired yet thriving Thursday!!! Have you had a need for a lot of coffee today!? I have! There are so many things swirling around in my head, I sometimes don’t know whether I’m coming or goinπŸ˜‚!! Worry and stress about work, mommy-ing, cleaning, laundry, supper, lunches, socks, rain boots, rain coats, money, this CRAZY WORLD we live in! Can I get an amen? Our Brains never turn off! We fret about things we can control and we fret about things we can’t!!! But how sweet it is to know that no matter what is going on around us, God is there and HE compassionately LOVES us!!!! He gives us peace in the storms, if we will just be still and let Him! I love this verse! It is so encouraging and refreshing! I hope it blesses you today! ❤️  “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭54:10‬ ‭  By Marianne Lancaster

TOTALLY IN TUESDAYS

Image
*Totally in Tuesdays* by Dorothy Hill Gates  It's that time again for another look at The Fruitful Woman. I can't believe how far we have come in this series; yet, here we are. Today we talk about the next fruit of the Spirit from Galatians 5:22-23  Faith  Faith means- complete trust or confidence in someone or something. Hebrew 11: 1 “Now FAITH is the substance of things ____________________ for, the evidence of things _____________ __________________.”  Faith- is believing what you can not see. There is no dictionary or encyclopedia that can best describe what faith really is. Plain and simple, faith-is believing God is WHO He says He is and He will do WHAT He says He will do.  Hebrews 11 6 “But without ____________________ it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must ____________________ that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently ____________________ Him.” Faith is the key that unlocks the door. What door? The door to

SINGLE GALS SATURDAY

🌸Single Gals Saturday 🌸 πŸ™‹πŸ»‍♀️πŸ™‹πŸΌ‍♀️πŸ™‹πŸ½‍♀️πŸ™‹πŸΎ‍♀️πŸ™‹πŸΎ‍♀️ All the single ladies, put your hands up...if you survived another Valentine’s Day. Sometimes it’s tough being single on the holiday set aside for people who are in love. I used to dread it. Seeing the sudden surge in beautiful proposals made me cringe, and I’d think to myself, “Will I ever be with someone who makes me that happy? But God has taught me some very valuable lessons during my season of singleness. I’ve learned that it’s okay to be happy being single. That my self-worth and my happiness are not dependent on anyone else. And that just because I am single, it does not mean that I am alone. I was married once upon a time. For 18 years, I shared my life with someone else. During that time, however, I didn’t know who I was without him. I had no identity outside our marriage. And because of that, I was incapable of being the kind of wife that God intended. I depended on my husband for my happiness. And w

FOLLOWER OF CHRIST FRIDAY

Image
* Follower of Christ Friday * Ah February 14! It’s upon us again!  The day we celebrate what we know about ❤️ love!  Love of sweethearts, love of family, and love of friends.  Chocolate and candy hearts, colors of pink and red… everywhere!  For me, it’s also a couple of days before my youngest son’s birthday, so we celebrate him around this time too!   There’s the love we know, and then there’s the love that we won’t fully comprehend this side of heaven...the love our Heavenly Father has for us. Thankfully, my understanding of God’s love for me has changed over the years. Maybe you can relate. See, I first had a mindset that God didn’t like me, and was just waiting on me to fail so he could punish me.  I mean, he loved me because he sent his son to die for me and the rest of the world, but he didn’t like me.  Then, my understanding sort of changed into a performance based relationship where I believed God loved me, but it was conditional as long as I followed certain laws

Marriage Ain't Easy Monday

~Marriage Ain’t Easy Monday~ Hey everyone! Happy Monday to you! We had our first annual ladies renewal retreat this wknd and Jessie one of our speakers spoke to us about the lies the devil tells us and how we let those lies creep into our lives and hearts and we start believing them. The same thing applies to our marriages. The devil hates marriage and families. He wants nothing more than to destroy them all! I am going to be real open with you for just a few minutes.  The devil wears me out with lies! I’m putting this out here because I know he is doing it to y’all too. The devil is a lie and anything he tells you is going to be harsh and hurtful and anything God tells you is going to be soft and loving. The devil tells me that my husband is cheating on me just like my last husband did. The devil tells me that our marriage will never last, that there’s no way your husband loves you, there’s no way he thinks your still pretty, and the list goes on and on!  Ladies and Gents,
