Have You Lost That Loving Feeling?

Image
Happy Monday Everyone!!! I hope y'all had a great weekend! We did, it just wasn't long enough. :) I am going to get right to the post today! You never close your eyes anymore when I kiss your lips And there's no tenderness like before in your fingertips You're trying hard not to show it But baby, baby I know it You lost that lovin' feelin' Whoa, that lovin' feelin' You lost that lovin' feelin' Now it's gone, gone, gone, whoa-oh Now, that I have you singing that song, because I know you can't read it without singing it. Lol That's my question for the day, Have you lost that loving feeling? Have you? If not right now, have you ever lost that loving feeling? The song goes on to say: Baby, baby, I'd get down on my knees for you If you would only love me like you used to do, yeah We had a love, a love, a love you don't find everyday So don't, don't, don't, don't let it slip away The song says they

Apples to Oranges: The Thief of Joy

Sisters in Christ Saturday Ladies, we ALL do it. Comparing ourselves to others is a practice that has unfortunately permeated our minds since we were little girls. It has become second nature to us, because of the constant barrage of media images we see. And let's not forget about the impact social media has on us in this area. Even long before our modern times, women have been comparing themselves to other women. Brunettes want to be blonde. Shorter girls want to be taller, and tall women want to be shorter. We all want to be thinner, more successful, happier, and prettier.  I could go on-and-on, listing all the things by which we measure our "value." "I wish I were as ________ as she is." "She is such a much better __________ than I am." "I'm not good enough at ____________________." "Why can't I have ______________ like she does." Personally, I have struggled with this in every area. When I was a young

*Follower of Christ Friday* The Snooze Button

Image
The Snooze Button  by Brandi Bell  Oh my goodness! Do you ever hit the snooze button? I do!  I think as it pertains to alarm clocks, you can group people into one of two categories.   First, there are t hose that hear the sound of the alarm,  immediately get up and turn it off to go about their day.   The second type of person hears the alarm, hits the SNOOZE button, sometimes multiple times, to lengthen the sleep time they "think" it gives them.   When you hit the snooze button, you are getting a temporary pause, a DELAY in the waking process. However, you are ALSO delaying everything that is to happen after you wake up.   Yes, Brandi, that IS the point. Personally, I can be both categories, yet most of the time I am a SNOOZE button girl.  I won't reveal how many times I generally hit it, but it's a lot! Ha!   "So, W hy DO we hit the snooze button?" I asked myself.    I s it from a lack of sleep? Is it avoiding the daily events or re

The Race that Lies Before Us

Single Gals Saturday Where are all my runners at? You may not think this from looking at me now, but I used to love to run.  Several years ago, I decided I wanted to run in a local 5k. I trained myself, using a "Couch-to-Half Marathon" training schedule I found online. It was designed to slowly build endurance over several weeks, by increasing the amount of time you ran and decreasing the time you walk. I started this program and dedicated myself to this grueling program. I remember some nights, after I got back home from my run, I could actually FEEL my sweat shooting out of my pores.  My running time was an escape for me. I had my "Running Playlist" blaring in my ears, and I loved it when my feet hit the pavement to the beat of the music. After a few weeks, I had worked my way up to being able to run a full mile without stopping. That was a proud moment for me. Anyone who knows me, knows very well that I have never been an athletic person. Not for lac

The Lemon Tree

Image
*Follower of Christ Friday* "The Lemon Tree" I love lemon!  About 11 years ago, we bought a lemon tree.  It was a small little plant that was early in its growth. When we bought it, it was only about 2 and a half feet tall, and I was so excited about its potential.  I anticipated all of the lemons that I would be able to get off of its branches.  I watered and weeded it all season long, yet there were no lemons.  The following season, I pruned it, cut off the dead limbs and leaves, watered and weeded.  Again, NO lemons!!   I began to think, this tree would never be a producer of lemons like it was intended.   I got super spiritual and thought “ A tree is known by its fruit.” Well Mr. Lemon Tree… are you even a fruit tree if you can’t give me lemons?  Then one day in season 3, my husband, Doug came in and said you need to go look at your lemon tree.  I was so excited as I moved the leaves on a couple of branches and saw not one but TWO lemons growin

Good Friday?

Image
The Movie Reel Are you a movie buff? I have always enjoyed movies!  Have you ever seen one of those movie scenes  when a character is about to die and in his mind flashes his whole life? I think about that when I envision Jesus on the cross that "Good Friday." After being beaten beyond recognition, spat upon, mocked, nailed to a cross to spend hours upon hours in agony for me, I often get teary-eyed thinking "What kept him on that cross?" We know it had to be love!  I mean to leave a Heavenly throne, to humble himself and become human, to have never had any sin, guilt or shame, and then bear ALL the guilt, ALL the shame, and ALL the sin of the past, present and future world, including mine, it had to be love. John 15:13  There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends My husband, Doug, often says that the value of something is determined by what someone is willing to pay for it.  With that in mind, we must use this as a way to

Joy in the Journey It's no accident or coincidence what God set into motion over a year ago. When He placed the idea of Joy in the Journey deep into the hearts of our Righteously Redeemed team, we had no idea how important it would be. We knew this was to be our theme for the 2020 Righteously Southern ladies conference, yet we didnt know what 2020 would hold The idea of a book entitled Joy in the Journey was born, again we had no idea how relevant or needed this book would be, we just followed Gods leading. This book is compiled of testimonies from the Righteously Redeemed team. Amazing how God was preparing the theme, the book, and our own personal walks to be challenged by the present predicament of this global pandemic.   Do you think God randomly chose this theme and laid it on our hearts or do you believe that in His wise, all- knowing manner He prepared this exact theme for SUCH A TIME AS THIS!  God is good and His mercies endure forever. He knew our JOY would be teste

God's Tapestry

Image
Tapestry weaving  is a beautiful and time-consuming art form. The finished creation that hangs on the wall might be a beautiful, colorful landscape, but at one time, it was a barren loom with random threads, woven over and under one another. There was no clear picture, no form, and no sense to be made of it. I once heard someone say that our lives are like a splendid tapestry that God Himself is weaving. We are underneath this tapestry and can only see the underneath, unfinished work. Only He knows what the finished product will look like. Only The Creator knows how all of the various colors and threads will fit together to result in a completed work of art. Each thread, each color, represents different events, people, trials and triumphs in your life, Right now, we may not be able to see clearly what or why things are happening. The more threads He weaves into the tapestry of our lives, the more He reveals to us, the more things come together. The more they make ssense.  So

Order In the Court

Image
I confess, I have always enjoyed watching legal shows.  Everything from Perry Mason, Law & Order, to Matlock and even the new show, Bluff City Law.  The scales of justice deciding what to do about the law that was broken sure has a way of drawing you in.   Have you ever been in a courtroom?  I have, for traffic purposes. It’s pretty intimidating, at least to me.  It’s pretty much set up just like you’ve seen in a movie or on TV.  The seats for those attending, the place reserved for a jury, the two different areas for a plaintiff and a defendant, and of course the elevated seat for the judge.   If you ever have to go to court for breaking the law, your name is called to the front, you go forward, the judge reminds you of the charges, evidence is presented, and the judge decides if you are guilty.  If you are, then you have to face the consequences, by doing the time or paying the charges.  I realize this is a very simplified explanation, but you get the gist.
